Trolling for new friends...

Been hanging out on Livejournal for a while now. I have a number of friends who post 'round band camp here, and while I'm always happy to hear from folks I know, I'm most interested in meeting people I wouldn't otherwise get to know. Thus, I troll around lj, looking for interesting and thoughtful posts (and people), and try to meet new folks by taking part in these discussions. My goal for taking part in Livejournal is to expand my circle of friends beyond what would be possible in real life, as it is my firm belief that there are no strangers, just friends you haven't met yet.

I would hate to spend my time on lj talking to myself - I can do that just fine in my head on my own. So, I think when I randomly respond to a post that I find interesting, I'll include a link to this post, so folks can know where I'm coming from.

If you're reading this post because I responded to a posting or comment you may have made, hello! Hope you don't take offense to my seemingly random post, but I found your post interesting, thoughtful, provoking, funny, or some combination of the above. I am always looking for new folks to talk with, and am always looking to add to my friends list. Won't you be my neighbor?

Note: I clean up threads on this post, so I can keep track of add requests.

Just read your dissertation on Boar's blog and was going to check out your blog ;)in the interest of "friending" you. Though I'm pretty much a "lone heathen"... I still try to stay abreast of things regionally and nationally...
